This is said because when a mishap happens in the air then there will be 3 seconds to wear an oxygen mask otherwise you might not breathe. The point is if you can’t breathe yourself then how you can help others to breathe. So, helping oneself is more important and foremost.

This way one will be focused and ultimately be happier plus peaceful.

Living consciously is about taking control of your life, about thinking about your decisions rather than making them without thought, about having a life that we want rather than settling for the one that befalls us.

Focus Your Attention, Stop Being Distracted.

Start focusing more. Do one thing at a time. When you spend time with people, be present instead of zoning out on your smartphone.

2) Self Acceptance

Embrace The Truth, Even If It Is Bitter
Learn to live with the truth. Stop telling yourself lies about what you are or what you should do so that you can finally be happy. Think about the areas of your life where you aren’t honest with yourself or others. You’ll find a part of yourself you can’t accept.

Take gradual steps. Speak the truth to trusted people first. And slowly you’ll be able to come out onto the other side.

Do not blindly accept yourself. There are 2 situations

1. You can change things by taking actions

2. You cannot change things by doing anything

For example, if you are overweight and you want to reduce it then take action by exercising. Here you can change the situation.

But for example, your height is not in your control so don’t worry just accept how you are.

Become Self-Aware (Confidence)

Take some time to figure out what you value in life the most. It might be health, love, achievement, adventure, creativity, and so on. Know your desires.

And know your emotional nature: how you treat yourself, how you treat others, and when you feel the most alive.

3) Develop Positive Values

Positive values raise consciousness, negative values lower consciousness. Choose courage, desire, compassion, knowledge, reason, energy (with exercising, physical activity), and intention over cowardice, apathy, cruelty, ignorance, irrationality, disease, and passivity.
